Many summer visitors leave Ibiza with just one thought: wouldn’t it be wonderful to live in such a beautiful destination?

To which we would answer – what’s stopping you?!

Ibiza is far from the purely summer destination that many holidaymakers would believe. In fact, there is a thriving community here all year round and of course, the scenery is stunning whether there are tourists around or not! The busier lifestyle of the summer high-season slows down to a gentler pace as the residents catch their breath once the summer holidaymakers head home.

Get to know the island

Ibiza is a beautiful island with a rich cultural heritage, with far more to offer than just a tourist destination of parties and beaches. The thriving expat community is very welcoming, offering plenty of opportunities to meet new people and make friends from all over the world.

Once the main holiday season is over, there are fewer crowds, so it’s easier to explore the island at your own pace. There’s plenty to discover from historic sites and museums to art galleries and local markets.

The off-season period is also a great time to get active and explore the island’s natural beauty. While summer is taken up with the beach and mainly aquatic pursuits, such as swimming, paddle-boarding and kayaking, the cooler temperatures encourage land-based activities like hiking, cycling, and horse riding. Although that’s not to say that paddle-boarding and kayaking isn’t just as pleasant during the winter months, thanks to the wonderfully mild climate the island enjoys.
Also, if you’ve ever visited Ibiza, you will know that it has a rich culinary scene. Like every region in Spain, the island has a superb gastronomic tradition, with super-fresh fish and appealing Mediterranean cuisine, and there are plenty of great restaurants open all year round, with a wide range to choose from either overlooking the beautiful coast or down cobbled streets in the historic town or village centres.

Living in Ibiza

The concept of remote working or working from home has revolutionised how people organise their lives. Recently, the government has acknowledged this trend and passed a bill called the ‘digital nomad’ bill. This bill offers various concessions for foreigners who wish to work remotely on the island. It’s an option that has become increasingly popular, especially for those who have experienced the benefits of working from home during the pandemic. With the ability to work without needing to go to the office, they can now choose to work from any location. What better place to choose than the stunning island of Ibiza?

The island’s strong tourism industry also means there are plenty of job opportunities in areas such as hospitality, entertainment, and retail. Ibiza is also home to many international businesses, which means there are a wide variety of opportunities for expats to find work in their chosen field.

Idyllic year-round lifestyle

With around 300 days of sunshine a year, it’s easy to see why so many people choose to relocate here. The island’s warm climate means you can enjoy outdoor activities all year round, from hiking and cycling to water sports and beach volleyball. The island’s laid-back lifestyle, beautiful scenery, and great weather come together to offer the ideal year-round destination. Whether for holiday or as a permanent residence, there can be few places in the world that can offer the quality of life year-round as the beautiful White Isle.
